Families

Has it been too long since the last time you were all together for a nice photo? Let's change that. Family portraits will include everyone in the family, but also whatever other arrangements you would like (individuals, couples, etc.)

Candid Moments

When photographing portraits, there are lots of pre-planned poses we can try, but some of the best photographs come from the unexpected moments throughout the day. Letting people be who they are and capturing their natural interaction. Those are my favorites.

Couples

A great way to celebrate love both old and new. Maybe just a nice day in the park, or someplace with special meaning. Whatever the location or the reason, I'd love to capture some special memories for both of you!

What's Included?

All the images

I won't force you to pick and choose favorites from your pictures. If I felt that the picture was good enough to edit and show it to you, you will get that picture included. No hidden costs.

Print Release

Upon receiving your photos, you will also receive a document that will allow you to print your images anywhere at anytime. Of course, if you want me to help you with obtaining prints from a high-quality photo lab, I can do that as well.

Me. You get me.

Some portrait photographers outsource their work. Not me. When you hire me to take your pictures, I'm the one who shows up. I'm the one that edits. No surprises.

Portrait Sessions Starting from $300

I can customize according to your needs. The Standard Package is $300. The Delux Package is $500. View the Pricing Page for additional details.

Portrait Photography FAQ

Do you shoot digital or film?

I use the latest digital full-frame cameras from Canon. While there are still some hybrid photographers who will use both digital and film, digital is the far more practical choice.

Can I print my Portrait Photos?

Absolutely. You will receive a print release that will allow you to print and share your portrait photos for your own person, non-commercial use, and at no additional cost.

If you choose to have me fulfil some or all of the printing at a high-quality print lab, that can be arranged as well.

Do I get full sized photos?

You will receive the full, high-resolution digital photos. The specific resolution will depend on which camera I use and how much cropping is done when editing.

Do you edit the photos?

Yes. I personally edit every photo that you will receive. It is very time-consuming to do it right, but it really is the difference between a good photo and a great photo.

Can you smooth my skin or take wrinkles out of clothing?

For portraits, I always do some very subtle skin cleanup, eye brightening, and whatever else I think the photo needs to make it shine. I will also edit out small stains from clothing. Beyond that, it can be done, but can be very time-consuming and may require additional hourly fees if this is something you want.

Will you travel?

To a limited degree. For portraits, I do have some preferred locations throughout the state and in south-eastern Massachusetts. For locations that are further away or require additional preparation or costs, there may be additional charges for travel included as part of your portrait quote.

Is a second photographer an option?

While a second photographer is a common (and highly recommended) option for weddings, I wouldn't suggest it for portrait sessions. The cost would be too high, and it really isn't practical (or needed).

How long will it take to get my photos?

For portrait sessions, I will generally estimate a maximum of 2-3 weeks to allow for plenty of time for editing and unexpected delays, but generally they will be ready far sooner.
